NGB Engagement

In 2008 46 National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGB's) were tasked by Sport England to research and write whole sport plans for the period 2009-2013. The plans include interventions that will contribute to GROW, SUSTAIN and EXCEL targets. The interventions within the plans identify products and programmes through which the NGB feels that they will achieve their targets. Priority geographical areas for delivery are also identified in the plans. Funding towards the delivery of the plans has been allocated 

To ensure a consistent approach to the delivery of NGB interventions at a local level, Sport England introduced a framework through which NGB's can work with and receive support from all 49 County Sports Partnerships (CSP's). This framework is known as the core offer. The core offer recognises the role that CSP's can play in linking and engaging NGB's to local networks and organisations. Wesport is working with the NGB's to finalise local agreements in relation to their specific requirements from the core offer.

Enhanced Services

Through Wesport's Sports Projects Officer we provide a range of enhanced services to NGBs wishing to work in the West of England. These enhanced services are not included within the core offer and so can be tailored to the needs of each individual NGB. The Sports Projects Officer may draw on the services of the officers based within the Wesport team to support the delivery of the agreed outcomes.  

NGB Village

Wesport provides the opportunity for NGB's to use the office as a base to host or employ Local development Officers. This service is chargable and can be discussed on an individual needs basis.
