Olympic Torch route through greater Bristol and Bath area revealed
The Olympic torch relay will pass Bath's historic Royal Crescent en-route to the opening ceremony of London 2012.
It will pass the Georgian landmark on 22 May as the flame travels between Taunton and Bristol.
After an overnight stop in Bristol it passes through Flax Bourton, Nailsea and Failand before heading back to the city over Clifton Suspension Bridge.
The journey through the Bristol area is part of a 70-day tour across the UK.
It is due to arrive at the Olympic Stadium in London for the opening ceremony on 27 July when the last relay runner will transfer the flame from their torch to the Olympic cauldron.
It will then continue to burn until it is extinguished on the final day of the Games.
Thousands of torch-bearers have been recruited for the flame's journey before the opening ceremony.
Each torchbearer will wear a white and gold uniform which has been designed for the occasion.
One of the torch bearers on the the greater Bristol leg, James Bailey, 20, of Congresbury, said:
"I am very surprised to be chosen as it was such tough competition.
"The Olympics are the biggest sporting event in the world and to be part of that is pretty special.
"I think I'll be pretty nervous on the day and I'm hoping that I don't drop the torch.
"I'd hate to end up on YouTube for the wrong reasons."
