Job Vacancy: Senior Talent Development Manager - Sport England

Salary: £37,336 (up to £45,000 for exceptional candidates)
Sport England is looking to recruit a high quality Talent Development Manager to bring additional capacity and expertise to its talent development team. With the development of talent remaining a key strategic outcome for Sport England in its new 2012-2017 strategy and planned to feature strongly in the NGB plans for 2013-2017 this is an exciting time to join the team.
This year's Olympics and Paralympics provide a significant platform upon which to develop and support young talent within English sport. Looking ahead to the 2013-2017 cycle, Sport England plans to invest in excess of £90 million to enhance the England Talent Pathway in over 35 sports and ensure that those with talent have the support and opportunity to fulfill their potential.
Sport England aim to recruit an individual to join the team who is passionate, committed and experienced in talent development. We need someone who can manage change, monitor performance, provide technical support and add value, whilst building effective partnerships within the English talent support system.
This key senior role will work with a number of sports governing bodies and other partners to provide high quality advice in talent support and development. Beyond influencing the detail and delivery of specific talent development plans, you will ensure the optimal use of Sport England resources and track the effectiveness of our investment. You will also be an advocate for talent support and development, share learning and good practice across sports, and promote wider understanding of Sport England's work in this area.
You will certainly have direct hands on experience of talent development and talent identification within a sports environment, and will have gained this experience across a number of different sports. Strong leadership and influencing skills are vital and you will have a track record of leading and effecting change. Networking is essential, together with an ability to work effectively in a strategic environment. Add to that your strong analytical and communication skills and you'll quickly establish yourself, and with support from your line manager, develop into a key member of our team.
