Bristol Premieres' GB Athletes New Children's Show

Aimed mainly at primary school children, Medaltastic! is a fun opportunity for children to meet the nation’s sporting heroes from Team GB.

Created in Bristol feeding off the input from Athletes, it is designed to help inspire and entertain, and the first Athletes to be involved are Gold Medal Rower, Sophie Hoskings, Silver Medal Rower, Richard Chambers and Bronze Medal winning Hockey player, Alex Danson.

The inspiration will be provided by the three GB Medallists and the opportunity for each Family unit to take home a signed souvenir picture of them with a GB Medallist. The entertainment will be provided by audience interaction, funny videos and creative role play for Audience members, including parents, with the stage show provides the opportunity for children to ask questions of the Medal Winners and take part in some sporting challenges.

Initially designed to be unveiled in Exeter later in October, as organiser David Cotton explains, the format is being given a Bristol airing as a response to the demands from schools for Athletes to visit them,

Sophie, Alex and Richard were all engaged during the day en route to Bristol, so the after school option was the only one available to us and whilst it will not be convenient for all, at least we can meet some of that demand.”

With the Athletes on stage at 4.30pm, and photo sessions either side, organisers are ensuring that all families present do not miss their moment with a Medallist.
