Destination London, Be Inspired, Get Involved! - Volunteer Training Programme Released
In October the West of England Sport Trust and Team West of England launch a brand new Volunteering Programme; Destination London, Be Inspired, Get Involved! offering a FREE training to local volunteers.
The programme aims to increase the number and up skill volunteers within the West of England. Working in partnership with Filton College a training programme has been put together that will help develop and enhance the skills of local volunteers.
If you have applied to become a London 2012 Games Maker and are invited to the selection date for interview these skills and knowledge could enhance your chance in being selected to become a Games Maker.
The training will consists of a BTEC level 2 in ‘Understanding Stewarding in Spectator Events’ and workshops in customer care, hospitality and leadership.
The BTEC course will be ran 3 times, each for two evenings a week for 5 weeks, with the first course starting on 18th January 2011. Workshops are being run across March and June.
