Somerset Golf Development Officer

Salary £10,000 for 18 hours per week (on a self employed basis, responsible to the Somerset Golf Partnership)

This is a new and exciting opportunity for someone with good communication and interpersonal skills to co-ordinate the development of golf in Somerset.

You will work with the Somerset Golf Partnership, England Golf, Active Somerset and Golf Foundation to successfully co-ordinate and implement the Somerset Golf Development Plan.

The Golf Development Officer will initiate and promote the sport within the county, working with volunteers, coaches, schools, clubs and other agencies to assist and provide high quality golf opportunities for all.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a good understanding of sports development principles and golf structures, along with good organisational skills and the ability to motivate others.

This post is offered on a temporary basis for 1 year, with a view to secure further funding to extend the post beyond this period. However, as it is subject to external funding, agreed annually, the post will cease to exist should this funding be unavailable and appropriate notice will be provided.

Given the nature of the post the successful applicant will be required to authorise an application for Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
