Destination London, Be Inspired, Get Involved! - Second Volunteers Course About to Start!

In October the West of England Sport Trust and Team West of England launch a brand new Volunteering Programme; Destination London, Be Inspired, Get Involved! offering a FREE training to local volunteers.

The programme aims to increase the number and up skill volunteers within the West of England. Working in partnership with Filton College a training programme has been put together that will help develop and enhance the skills of local volunteers.

If you have applied to become a London 2012 Games Maker and are invited to the selection date for interview these skills and knowledge could enhance your chance in being selected to become a Games Maker.

The training will consists of a BTEC level 2 in ‘Understanding Stewarding in Spectator Events’ and workshops in customer care, hospitality and leadership.

The first course has just finished and the feedback from the attendees on the course has been excellent, with many comments being made about how good the course was and the knowledge gained from attending.

The second course starts on 8th March and there are still a few spaces available. Spaces are limited so if you are interested please return your application form as soon as possible. Also the first of the workshops will take place on 2nd march, covering Customer Care and Hospitality.
