Don't Miss Wesport's 'Crossing the Line' Safeguarding Performance!
Next week will be the last chance to apply for places for the Wesport safeguarding event , 'Crossing the Line'.
You will have seen many news items and TV programmes over the last few weeks which have highlighted the issue of the grooming of children.
This live performance will demonstrate to you, your club, your development team, your facility staff, your welfare officers and all those working with children , how easy it is for grooming - not only of the child - but, of parents, staff, volunteers, to take place within your/our own local environment.
Two performances will be held on Tuesday 5th April 2:00pm and 6:30pm at: The Theatre, Nailsea School, Mizzymead Road, Nailsea, BS48 2HN.
The cost of the performance is £25 per person. If you are a Wesport member organisation, a club with a national accreditation or a coach on CoachWest there is a reduced rate of £20 per person.
Nick Slinn, National Development Officer for the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit:
'In partnership with several other organisations, the CPSU engaged Geese Theatre to provide input to a major sports safeguarding conference in February 2010. Over 250 people from a variety of organisations with an interest in protecting children in sport attended. Feedback on the conference, and on the impact of Geese’s performance in particular, was uniformly positive. Geese were able to use drama, humor and audience interaction to bring many aspects of safeguarding to life and helped to put this work in a real-world sports context’
