Wesport asked for Nominees for the New Years Honours List
Wesport has been asked to help identify potential candidates for the New Years honours list.
Do we have a local unsung hero, coach or a member of your club that should be considered?
Honours exist to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements. There are always fewer honours than people who deserve them and because they are rare, they should be reserved for people:
- Who have changed things especially by solid, practical achievement;
- Whose work has brought distinction to British life or enhanced the UK’s reputation in their area or activity.
Nominations must be rigorously researched and a compelling case put forward – all without the person in question knowing. Therefore, please only put people forward if you really feel strongly about their contribution, and are confident that you can find the information you need to support the nomination!
Initial deadline is the 28thApril 2011.
