The CPSU Safeguarding Stars Awards
The CPSU will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary on October 5th and 6th this year. This is a superb opportunity to celebrate both the progress made over the past 10 years in safeguarding in and through sport and to look forward to new initiatives that will continue to keep safeguarding high on the sports sector’s agenda.
We are very aware that the progress has been made in partnership with people like yourselves and others within your organisations.
Therefore, as part of these celebrations, we would like to launch an annual award for CPSU Safeguarding Stars. These are people who have really made a difference through going the extra mile to promote safeguarding in sport. They could be at any level within your organisation, paid or volunteer, for example, club welfare officer, board member, CEO, but should be a person that would be an example to others and deserves special recognition for their contribution to safeguarding children within sport.
We would like to ask that you consider nominating a Safeguarding Star. Please consider in particular how this person has gone the extra mile to champion safeguarding and give specific examples describing their special contribution to this work. We would ask that you nominate up to three people.
We are proposing that all nominees will be acknowledged in some way during the conference. In addition, prior to the conference we hope to seek the views of young people to select representatives from the nominees to attend the conference itself.
Nominations should be submitted using the available nomination form by 30th June 2011 please return your nomination forms to cpsu@nspcc.org.uk.
