Job Vacancy: Chief Executive Officer - Berkshire CSP
A CEO is required to lead and reinvigorate this County Sports Partnership (CSP) in one of the most vibrant, economically significant areas of England.
Salary: c. £55K-£65K
Heading up the new not for profit company via which the CSP will operate and reporting to a new Strategic Board, the new CEO will drive strategic planning for, and co-ordination of, sport and physical activity across the Partnership area. This is an exciting role that requires someone with passion, energy and commitment to drive up levels of participation and assist Berkshire to achieve its full and undoubted sporting potential.
Key tasks include, unifying partners in a common cause and optimising Berkshire CSP’s profile, relevance, impact and the quality and outcomes of its relationships in sport and with other key partners. The successful applicant will bring:
- Vision, leadership and experience of strategic management.
- Outcome-focus & drive to deliver excellent projects/programmes
- Strong marketing, influencing and communication skills, flair & innovation.
- Ability to drive effective performance measurement/management.
Understanding of the current/potential future role of CSPs, governance, capacity to head the new company, manage a small staff team plus commissioned and seconded staff, and operate effectively in a complex, politicised environment is key. The CEO will work closely with senior managers in the CSP team, partner local authorities, NGBs, Sport England, FE/HE, trusts, schools, the private and 3rd sectors, health, regeneration, professional clubs and the media to deliver a quality service and promote Partnership value in a results-focused environment.
Specific management arrangements will be determined by the new CEO and the Berkshire County Sports Partnership Strategic Board. The desire to get the right candidate is reflected in the salary. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 8 June 2011.
