Only 6 days left to nominate people for their 'Moment to Shine' in the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay
The London 2012 Organising Committee’s public nomination campaign to find 2,012 Torchbearers closes in just 6 days.
The LOCOG ‘Moment to Shine’ campaign aims to find inspirational members of the public who have gone beyond their personal best to carry the Olympic Flame next summer.
Nominating someone you know to be a Torchbearer is easy. All you need to do is write a 150 word application about why a friend, colleague, public figure or family member deserves their moment to shine and exemplifies a personal achievement and/or contribution to their local community.
To nominate a Torchbearer through the LOCOG programme go to www.london2012.com/olympictorchrelay. You have until 11.59 on 29 June 2011 to nominate a Torchbearer... and don't forget, you can nominate more than one person.
As you know, adifferent town and city of the UK will welcome the Olympic Flame every evening of the Torch Relay. In the South West, the evening celebration stops are Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton, Bristol, Cheltenham, Salisbury, Weymouth & Portland and Bournemouth. LOCOG are keen to have local people carrying the Olympic Flame in their local areas, so we want to encourage as many people as possible to nominate inspirational people in their communities
