In the bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games, LOCOG promised to speak out particularly to young people and to create opportunities to give everyone across the UK, young and old, the chance to get involved. They promised the London 2012 Games would be ‘Everyone’s Games’, no matter where they are from or what they believe in.
For the last 3 and a half years the London 2012 Inspire programme has been doing exactly that, giving everyone from across the UK a chance to participate in an Inspire project under the theme of sport, culture, education, sustainability volunteering and/or business. Over 12 million registered participants have taken part in over 1,500 projects across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Island.
As there Inspire Campaign Manager you will lead us through the final chapters of this incredible journey for our grassroots campaign by driving engagement through two key strands:
- Conclude the application and assessment stage of the campaign with a target of 2012 projects for the year of 2012
- Shift the focus to showcasing and profiling the Inspire project across the key Olympic and Paralympic national moments e.g. the Torch Relays, Olympic and Paralympic Games.
