UK Coaching Awards

The UK Coaching Awards provide the opportunity to thank coaches and coaching organisations for their dedication and to recognise their achievements.  The awards will be presented at a glittering at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London on the evening of Tuesday 29 November 2011.

There are many coaches in the West of England that will meet the criteria and deserve to be recognised by being nominated and maybe winning the awards listed below.

Please think long and hard about fellow coaches that would fulfil the criteria below.  Wesport are more than happy to support with completing the nomination form with you and if required even nominating the individual ourselves.

Let’s get coaching in the West of England on the map and get a number of nominations into each category

Children’s Coach of the Year

-          A coach of young people under the age of 16

-          Evidence of the development of basic skills through fun in sport

-          Evidence of appropriate player-centred engagement and high-quality coaching

-          Examples of innovative practice

Participation Coach of the Year

-          Evidence of the impact the coach has had on widening access to sport through high-quality coaching

-          Evidence of working within a specific community, particularly low-participation groups

-          Examples of innovative practice

Performance Development Coach of the Year

-          Evidence of innovative practice

-          Evidence of player-centred, high-quality coaching that encourage the development within sport and nurtures talent

High Performance Coach of the Year

-          Evidence of player-centred development leading to successful performance within sport

-          Evidence of national or international by the coach’s athletes

-          Examples of innovative practice

The Heather Crouch Young Coach of the Year Award

-          A coach who is 25 years of age or under

-          Evidence of creativity and determination in development as a coach

-          Evidence of the provision of opportunities and dedicated support to performers to help them reach their goals

-          Examples of innovative practice
