England Basketball aims for Baller Gain with Ball Again!
As part of England Basketball's efforts to increase weekly participation in basketball amongst those over the age of fifteen, They are pleased to announce the launch of Ball Again, the participant-centred package of coaching and games designed to attract the 'lapsed' basketball player back to the sport.
Maybe you know of somebody who used to play the sport but stopped? Perhaps a friend has expressed an interest in 'having a go'?
Ball Again provides a relaxed reintroduction to the sport for players who have previously played some basketball, a little or a lot, and is also perfect for those trying the sport for the first time.
To mark the start of this exciting new project, England Basketball is offering an additional incentive exclusively for affiliated associations, clubs and leagues.
England Basketball will provide a grant of up to £300 to those who successfully complete a funding application form to run a (minimum) six week Ball Again programme to be delivered between 1 January 2012 and 31 March 2012.
National Development Manager, Sam Spare, said,
"We are very enthusiastic about the potential of this initiative to increase regular participation amongst those sixteen and over. I believe that a reasonable number of us could name a friend or relative who used to play basketball or someone who has said that they would like to try it for the first time - this type of person could really enjoy taking part in Ball Again."
