£5.1 million Lottery boost for local sport
A community sports project spearheaded by a young man recognised on the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for his services to community sport is among 32 projects benefitting in the first round of Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund. The projects will share in a total of £5.1 million of National Lottery funding.

Government announces CASC review
Sport England has welcomed the Government announcement of a change to the rules on Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that will allow clubs to offer junior memberships without voting rights and still qualify as a CASC.

Hundreds of grassroots sports clubs share in £16.6 million Olympic legacy boost
£16.6 million of National Lottery funding has today been awarded to 310 projects, taking the number of local communities supported by Inspired Facilities to more than 1,000 – one year ahead of schedule. The investments will bring big improvements to local facilities from new playing surfaces to floodlights and better changing rooms – and at least £20 million more will be offered through two further funding rounds.

New Small Grant programme Opens for the South West
