Wesport are pleased to announce the launch of applications for the 2nd Coach Core education programme in Bristol, in partnership with The Royal Foundation and Team Bristol. This year ‘Team Bristol’ will employ 15 young people , aged 16-24 yrs, who have the potential of becoming a future sports coach. This is an exciting opportunity for any young person wishing to gain further education and employment in sport.
The Coach Core programme provides successful applicants with a 15 month contract with a local employer, working and training for 30 hours a week and completion of the L2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship.
Team Bristol is made up of the following employers who will recruit apprentices;
Access Sport, Creative Youth Network, Empire Fighting Chance, Gloucestershire Cricket Board, Shine Wraparound Care, Youth Moves.
Coach Core Benefits
- Achieve qualifications and vocational training that matches the criteria required by employers within the sports industry.
- Mentoring and experience of working alongside professionals from the industry including Sports Development Officers, experienced sports coaches and personnel from National Governing Bodies.
- Practical experience of working in the industry at sports event, in schools, in clubs and coaching within sports venues.

Applications will be collated by Lifetime and all eligibility elements will be checked with each individual via an initial phone call.
We will then invite applicants to our centralised recruitment/selection event being held on the 17th January.
Applicants must be between the ages of 16-24 years, and not be registered for further education, full time employment or training (at time of appointment, if applicable).
