The Satellite Club programme is a Sport England funded initiative which Wesport deliver locally. Satellite Clubs are local sport and physical activity clubs that are designed around the needs of young people and provide them with positive, enjoyable experiences that make it easy for them to become active or to develop more regular activity habits.
Satellite Clubs are extensions of community sports clubs and target young people who are inactive. Wesport have some key focus groups and areas to support as part of our 5th year of Satellite Club delivery.
Priority Groups and Locations
Wesport have key priorities for projects in the West of England and aim to fund partners who work with:
- Young people aged 14 - 19
- Young people who are persistently inactive
- Female only focussed delivery
- Young people from lower socio economic groups
- Young people with disabilities
We also have some specific geographical locations including but not limited to:
- Bristol - Southmead / Knowle / Lawrence Weston
- B&NES - Southdown / Twerton
- North Somerset - Weston - super - Mare
