Coaching Subsidies

Wesport Coach Bursaries

Apply for funding to attend training courses and workshops

Aims of the funding

Wesport aims to Inspire People, Empower Organisations and Create Opportunities.  Applicants must be able to demonstrate how attending the training will assist them in contributing towards at least one of these aims and benefit individuals in the West of England.

How much is available?

We can only support a coach with up to 75% of the total cost of a course.  Dependant on the total cost of the course we may only support you with a lower percentage, this is dependant on the impact that your qualification will have and also on the number of applications we recieve.

When is the deadline?

We aim to have three rounds of funding and the dealines for each of these will be the last day of the month.

I have already attended my course, can I apply for funding?

Unfortunately we can only fund courses that are commencing after we have approved your application.

If succesful, when will I recieve my funding?

We will provide the funding once you have completed your qualification, this will mean that you will have to pay the full amount initially and then be reimbursed.

What training can I apply for?

The funding is not restricted to the traditional Level 1 or Level 2 etc.  You may apply for funding for other learning opportunities, however you will have to prove the relevance of this qualification/workshop to the Wesport aims.  A supporting statement from your National Governing Body will also be required and they will be asked to explain how the training will help contribute to the ambitions of increasing participation in their sport or to supporting talented perfomers in their sport.

How do I apply?

Complete the application form on the right hand side of this page.  You will then need to send it to your local or relevant National Governing Body Officer.  They will complete the supporting statement section.  The form then needs to be returned to Wesport.
