No Hate, Just Sport is launching the next phase in its campaign as it begins recruiting for a new volunteering in sport opportunity, the No Hate, Just Sport Club Champions.

No Hate, Just Sport,
which is a joint initiative between Wesport and the Bristol-based charity Stand Against Racism and Inequality (SARI), aims to nurture environments in Bristol sports clubs that are free from discrimination and hate so that everyone can access the positive outcomes that sport provides.

We’re looking for volunteers to become No Hate, Just Sport Club Champions in Bristol. We want Club Champions who will help us promote the campaign's message in your sports clubs, work to make your environment safer and more welcoming for all and provide feedback to us on the resources and training we provide.

We want volunteers who will:

  • Be proactive in embedding the message of No Hate, Just Sport, using the resources and support provided.
  • Meet as a group between 3 – 4 times during the year, to provide a sports club perspective on the ongoing development of No Hate, Just Sport.
  • Work with Wesport’s Sport Welfare Officers who will help you to embed No Hate, Just Sport in your club. This can be at a time and place that suits you.
  • Provide feedback on No Hate, Just Sport resources, guidance documents, and training to Wesport and SARI so we can make improvements that work for you and your club.

  • The opportunity to learn from, and share best practices with, other sports in your area.
  • Free one-to-one support from Wesport’s Sport Welfare Officers that can help you embed No Hate, Just Sport in your club.
    • Your wider club will also benefit from our broader sport welfare offer, which includes support on safeguarding, welfare, mental health, nutrition and more.

A coach, club member, welfare officer, chairperson or parent/guardian whose child takes part in a sports club. Everyone can play a part in making sport safe for everyone.

This role would be great for someone who has an interest or lived experience in these areas, but we encourage everyone to apply.

No Hate, Just Sport wants to support change across clubs in our area. We want to hear from a variety of clubs in the West of England, in a wide range of sports.
